A weekend in the country

We’ve just returned from taking 30 of our singers away on our second Away Weekend staying at the glorious Felden Lodge in Hertfordshire. Nestled in acres of lush green space just 30 minutes from London, we spent 48hrs singing, dancing, crafting, eating, laughing, and having a ball!

From a treasure hunt and pub quiz to yoga and mindfulness classes, with a Book Club, musical theatre geek out, orchestra, organised fun and a vocal masterclass thrown in, the weekend mixed all our favourite things into one big recipe and the outcome was delicious.

“When I arrived home yesterday evening after the Starling Arts Away Weekend, I was very tired... but SO full of love and joy and with memories to last a lifetime!
From learning a Greatest Showman dance routine to drinking wine whilst singing along to Anna playing showtunes in our makeshift Piano Bar, it really was the weekend of my dreams! My highlights were our vocal technique workshop with Miri Gellert, teaching a super fun yoga class to my peers and getting involved with workshopping ideas for Anna & Emily’s new musical! There really is nothing like a weekend jam packed full of activities you love, with facilitators you love and sharing it with fellow choir members who have become more like family than just friends.
